Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends Soul gospel Jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's title is Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. She was appointed as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choral leader for the stage production. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
